So, at the beginning of this year my obff (just go with it, to explain would require way too much, lol...but serious) said to me that she truly believes 2011 is my year. That is not to say that 2010 was the worse year of my life, because actually a few great things came out of it. But, in terms of the goals I want to accomplish and the items I want to check off of my life to-do list...she believes a lot of those things will happen this year. And of course I have no problem subscribing to that school of thought. Thus far, it looks like she may be right! A few major things have already happened and we are in the second week of the third month of the year. Two of those things inspired me to start this blog.
I want the focus of my blog to be about those two things...and other random thoughts that come about. I share this thought with my obff (this is how I shall refer to her from here on out, so get used to it) and she thinks its one of my better ideas (by now you should see why I keep this one around...she is so supportive, lol). Then I confess that beause there really is no causal connection between these two things, I really have no idea as to what to name my blog. It took a little pondering...but obff managed to save the day once again and come up with the perfect name...Locs and Keys. Yes...this is a blog about my adventures (my whole life has always been an adventure) in locing my hair and buying my first home.
Now to know me is to know that I am the last person that anybody would ever think would make the conscious decision to loc my hair. This is not because i dislike dreadlocs...I actually think that are gorge...and on the right person really sexy (that's another story for another time...maybe). It is because I have always changed my hair like most people change underwear. I am addicted to change...especially when it comes to my hair. But who says that locs can't be versatile?!
I will elaborate on my decision to loc in a future post. Now...on to the topic that has consumed most of my interest for the past month or so...my new home.
I have been actively searching for a home since this past December and that within itself has been an adventure. But alas (yes I actually used that word), I found the house that I am going to make my home. When I started my search I asked God for me to get the house that is for me and I now have that house. Well closing is in a few weeks...but you get the point. I will also devote a future post to sharing with you all more details about my new home.
The purpose of this post was just to provide an introduction of sorts so please excluse the length. I promise future posts will have less words and even include eye candy (aka pictures).
